Just over three years ago, a family from Surrey bought a 1960’s style bungalow with the vision of remodelling the property to create a much larger home.
The whole bungalow has been completely transformed and is now a stunning, traditional style, two storey property. Stuart worked alongside a local builder on every stage of the project, and the house took only eight months to complete. Bereco supplied the windows and doors for the entire property.
The couple looked at several window and door suppliers, and it was Bereco that stood out straight away for the outstanding quality and product finish. The external façade of the property has a traditional style rendered finish, and each window has Portland stone cills so it was important that the chosen windows further enhance these features. Bespoke Sliding Sash style windows, with a cottage bar design, were the ideal choice to enhance the style of the house.
French doors that open out onto the garden area were chosen for the back of the property with which to enjoy the view. The vast choice of ironmongery available meant brass furniture to suit the chosen window designs were available to complement the interior décor of the property.
The traditional style double Entrance Door, in a striking cobalt blue colour, is the perfect finishing touch to complement the contrasting white windows.
Planning permission meant that the height of the roof could not be as high as originally intended, so a much flatter roof was decided on. Interestingly, this has added to the look of the final design giving it a much more traditional appearance.
“The quality of the Bereco windows is excellent and the delivery time was very impressive, especially as the windows were all made to measure. One of the most important considerations for us was the warranties of the windows which are very comprehensive. The service has been very good all the way through the process and we have been very pleased with the final result”Owner of Dell Cottage
Planning permission had to be sought to increase the size and style of the property from a 1300sq ft bungalow to a 3600sq ft, two storey house. The drastic transformation meant that new, bespoke windows and doors were needed for the entire project. It was important that both the window & door designs were in keeping with the couple’s vision for Dell Cottage – Contemporary Range products were the ideal choice.
