Flush Casement Window Features

Our flush casement windows are our most popular style, featuring sashes that are flush with the frame externally, slim frame sections, external putty line mouldings and ovolo or lambs’ tongue internal mouldings.

Safety (& security) first

Our timber flush casement windows come with modern easy clean or egress friction hinges, secure night vents and child safety restrictors. Internally glazed as standard they also include high-security multipoint espagnolette locking handles and are Secured by Design & Part Q certified. Create traditional styles such as horizontal, cottage, Georgian, or marginal bar using our applied 16mm, 25mm and 35mm glazing bars.

Ideal for conservation areas

Our Heritage profile Flush casement windows are specifically designed for Conservation areas and listed buildings*, with options for both single glazing and slimline double glazing. Our 14mm slimline double glazing units are internally glazed and utilise a full drainage and ventilation system. They can achieve a centre pane U Value as low as 1.2, and are fully compliant with building regulations, meaning you get all the benefits of modern window design whilst still satisfying conservation requirements.

Choice of glazing

Choose from single, slimline, acoustic, double glazing or triple glazing. Create traditional styles such as horizontal, cottage, Georgian, or marginal bar using our applied 16mm, 25mm and 35mm glazing bars. Divide panes with arched or gothic bars designs. Make a statement using lead in traditional designs such as diamond, square and Queen Anne style. Overlooking a neighbour? Our obscure, translucent coloured and opaque painted glass makes for a great feature.

High performance

Enjoy the sound of silence with noise reduction up to 42dB. Double glazing with warm edge spacers offer Uw values that are 40% better than current Part L Building Regulations. Our casements are part of BlueSky high-performance window scheme and offer exceptional draught-proofing and weather performance.

Add a splash of colour

Every flush casement window is beautifully factory finished using the most environmentally friendly water-based paint or stain. Choose from any RAL Classic, RAL Design, NCS and BS colour charts or match to Farrow & Ball, Earthborn or Fired Earth colour collections. With single or dual colour options you can create the perfect match to the exterior facade and interior decor of the property.

Handles that match

Our flush casement windows come with multi-point espagnolette locking systems that are handle operated. You can choose from an exclusive range of 4 handles and decorative stays in both modern to traditional styles in up to 10 different colours.

Obscure glazing

Glazing is an important design element for any project and can make all the difference when creating a feature window or door. A variety of obscure glazing patterns are available with different designs offering varying privacy levels (rated 1-5 with 5 being the highest level).

Redwood or hardwood timber

All our products are manufactured using FSC100% engineered laminated timber. We offer both redwood (Scots Pine) and hardwood (Dark Red Meranti) – both with the same extensive warranty. When comparing the two, our hardwood has a more of an open grain structure meaning it gives more of a textured finish, particularly when stained.

Casement Window FAQ's

On flush casement windows the sashes are flush with the frame externally. On a lipped or storm-proof casement window the sash overlaps the frame.
At Bereco our timber flush casement windows feature double weather seals that offer excellent weather performance and keep out the draughts. In addition, both our window styles come with the ability to adjust and increase compression on the weather seals.
All of our casement windows are fitted with easy clean friction hinges.
Bereco casement windows feature easy clean or egress friction hinges; when open the friction of the hinge holds the window in place. Our traditional lipped and flush casements also come with secure night vent position.
Yes, we can offer these in both side hung or top hung (regency casement) designs, as well as Tilt & Turn (opening in) window styles.
Currently, Part Q is only applied to new dwellings, so if you are building a new home or converting a non-dwelling (e.g. a barn) into a home then it is a required. If you are renovating a home then it is not a requirement, however, we would certainly recommend that you look for a manufacturer who builds security in as standard as we do. Look for espagnolette locking and 3* high-security cylinders (neighbourhood watch approved) where possible.
