Spiral Balance is our most popular style of sash window featuring maintenance-free, semi-concealed, in-frame spiral balances. The balances are available in white, brown, black or cream to match your chosen finish, and can be completely concealed to not detract away from the window's traditional style.
Our cords and weights sash windows are the essence of traditional design, featuring lead or steel weights, nylon sash cords with exceptional tensile strength and draught-proof axel pulley wheels. Available with an easy clean facility as well as internal access to the internal and external sash weight pockets, helping to simplify future maintenance.

Glazing
Glazing is an important consideration for any project, with our timber sliding sash windows you can choose from single glazing, SlimLine (narrow cavity) glazing, double glazing, or triple glazing. Add glazing bars to create traditional and contemporary glazing patterns using our applied 16mm, 25mm and 35mm glazing bars.
We offer acoustic double glazing with a range of impressive sound reduction ratings, from 33dB to 42dB and a variety of obscure glazing patterns are available offering varying privacy levels (rated 1-5 with 5 being the highest level of obscurity). Our obscure, translucent coloured and opaque painted glass also makes for a great feature.

Our timber sash windows come fitted with fitch fasteners, hook lifts and opening restrictors. You can choose from two designs of fitch fasteners known as The Fitch Lock or the Brighton Fastener, three different designs of the opening restrictor and key operated vent lock, the push and twist vent lock or the angel vent lock.

We offer redwood (Scots Pine) and hardwood (Dark Red Meranti) and both have the same extensive warranty. When comparing the two materials, our hardwood has more of an open grain structure meaning it gives more of a textured finish, particularly when stained.

This style of windows is ideal if you want the sash window look but is impractical because of narrow reveals. In this instance, a traditional sash window doesn’t offer the clear opening needed to comply with UK escape regulations.

SustainabilitySashes slide vertically within the frame. At Bereco we offer cords and weights sliding sash windows, which is a traditional weight and pulley system. We also offer spiral balances which are a tensioned spring mechanism where a coiled spring is discretely concealed inside an encased coloured tube to match the windows finish.
We offer sash windows in traditional cords and weights or a modern spiral balance method of operation featuring traditional or heritage style mouldings and bars that are perfect for replacement windows or conservation areas.
They are a completely different opening mechanisms. The cords and weights option has wider jambs to hold the lead or steel weight, but there is no difference in the warranty we offer.
At Bereco we don’t offer a tilt facility. This style of window usually comes with unsightly and non-compressing brush seals that can affect weather performance. However, our cords and weights option is available with an easy clean system that allows the bottom sash to open inwards side hung.
Even though we can offer this, both our hardwood and redwood timbers have the same warranty and are engineered from defect-free timber that is preservative-treated and fully factory finished. At Bereco every individual timber element of our windows is treated with preservative using the most technologically advanced coating systems from Teknos, which is why we can offer our 30-year warranty against rot and fungal decay.
