Hinged at the top of the frame and opening outward from the bottom, top hung casements create a canopy that deflects rain away. This means you can enjoy fresh air even during wet weather.
Available in both flush and lipped profiles with thousands of colour options, choice of redwood or hardwood timber, glazing bars, and premium ironmongery.
Manufactured from sustainably sourced engineered laminated timber with careful preparation and factory finishing, our top hung casement windows are built to last over 60 years.
When combined with fixed picture windows, top hung windows are particularly well-suited for installation on upper floors where security and safety are important considerations.
Our top hung casement windows are available in two profiles to suit your home.
Flush casement windows feature sashes that sit flush with the frame when closed, creating elegant, clean lines that work beautifully in both traditional period properties and contemporary homes.
Alternatively, our lipped casement windows – also known as “storm-proof” casements – feature a sash that overlaps the frame, providing an additional barrier against the elements.

We offer both redwood (Scots Pine) and hardwood (Dark Red Meranti), with both hardwood and softwood options covered by the same 30 year warranty against rot and fungal decay. Our hardwood has a more open grain structure that creates a textured finish, particularly attractive when stained, whilst redwood offers a finer, more even grain that takes paint beautifully.
Both timber species are are either FSC® 100% or 100% PEFC certified, ensuring they come from responsibly managed forests.

Book a ConsultationTop hung casement windows are hinged at the top of the frame and open outward from the bottom. They’re operated by a handle that controls a multi-point locking system, and when opened, they create a canopy effect that deflects rain away from the interior whilst allowing fresh air to enter your home.
Side hung casement windows are hinged at the side and open outward like a door, providing maximum ventilation when fully opened. Top hung casement windows are hinged at the top and open outward from the bottom, offering more secure ventilation as they can be left open safely whilst you’re out. Both styles can be combined in the same window frame for versatility.
Yes, our top hung casement windows are very secure. They feature high-security multi-point espagnolette locking systems, are Secured by Design accredited, and Part Q certified. The top-opening design also provides secure ventilation, as the opening at the top of the frame makes them difficult to access from outside, allowing you to leave them open safely.
Yes, top hung and side hung casements work beautifully together in the same window frame. We can also incorporate fixed, non-opening windows into a configuration with top hung or side hung casements.
Our top hung casement windows are highly energy efficient, achieving U-values from 1.3 W/m²K with double glazing (which exceeds 2023 Part L building regulations and 0.9 W/m²K with triple glazing. The tight seal created when closed provides excellent draught-proofing and weather protection.
