One of our recent signature projects has given us the opportunity to work again with Benjamin Allen Bespoke Homes. On this occasion we supplied curved head entrance doors, spiral balance sliding sashes with specialist bar designs and a front door fanlight for the Old Market Garden – the ‘dream home’ of Allen and Michelle Dawson, who are the owners of Benjamin Allen.
All the products were chosen from the Bereco Traditional Range, manufactured using sustainably sourced engineered FSC® 100% certified softwood, the most advanced coating systems and the finest architectural ironmongery. Made up of a series of sensitively designed bespoke timber french doors and sliding sash windows each one accentuating the distinct character of the building, this stunning property in the South Downs, designed and built by Benjamin Allen, serves to demonstrate both how attractive and enhancing their homes are, and a fine example of how creative and intelligent design can be used.
The house, which features the words ‘Old Market Garden’ etched into the front door fanlight, provides prospective self-builder clients with the opportunity to experience the quality of a Benjamin Allen home first-hand. Based on a traditional design, the external facade benefits from features such as York Handmade bricks and handmade clay peg tiles, enhanced by the high-quality timber sliding sash windows. A glass link separates the two wings of the house so that each area has its own unique identity. The traditional materials on the outside hide a contemporary open plan internal layout. The vaulted roofs echo the spacious feel throughout.
