Our heritage timber windows are bespoke replacements crafted to match the design, proportions, and details of original period windows, making them ideal for listed buildings and conservation areas. Whether you’re looking for replacement sash windows for a Georgian home or traditional flush casement designs, we can help.
Get In TouchLearn MoreOur heritage timber windows replicate the features of original period windows whilst incorporating modern improvements in energy efficiency, sound insulation and durability.
We've engineered our heritage windows to achieve period-appropriate proportions to suit the exterior of any historical property.
Choose from Heritage mouldings with internal lambs tongue profiles and external putty-style details or Traditional mouldings with internal ovolo profiles and external putty styling for a softer period aesthetic.
Our range includes authentic window styles such as sliding sash windows – available with traditional cords and weights or spiral balance mechanisms – and flush casement windows to suit country cottages and farmhouses.
Aesthetics don't have to mean compromising on thermal efficiency or security. Our slimline double glazing options deliver excellent U-values whilst discreet high-security locking systems are concealed within traditional-looking ironmongery.
Owning a period property comes with unique responsibilities. Whether you live in a listed building or a conservation area, replacing your windows requires careful consideration of planning regulations, historical accuracy, and the architectural integrity of your home.

Book a ConsultationHeritage timber windows are specifically designed to replicate the authentic features of original period windows, including lambs tongue or ovolo mouldings, slender sightlines, traditional glazing bars, and period-correct ironmongery. They meet the strict aesthetic requirements for listed buildings and conservation areas whilst incorporating modern thermal performance and security features.
Planning requirements vary by location and the sensitivity of your property. Our 16mm slimline double glazing maintains the slim appearance of single glazed windows and is accepted in many conservation areas. We can provide technical drawings and specifications to support your planning application, and our team has extensive experience working with conservation officers across the UK.
Our heritage timber windows are manufactured using engineered laminated timber and expert joinery techniques, giving them a lifespan of 60 years or more with minimal maintenance. This significantly exceeds the durability of original period windows, which were made from solid timber sections.
Yes! We manufacture completely bespoke windows to replicate any period window design. Whether you need to match specific glazing bar patterns, sash horn styles, unusual dimensions, or curved features, our craftspeople have the expertise to recreate authentic period details exactly.
Traditional cords and weights use lead or steel weights hidden in pockets within the frame, operated by nylon cords and pulley wheels – exactly as original Victorian sash windows worked. Spiral balance mechanisms use modern spring balances concealed within the frame for a maintenance-free operation. Both are authentic in appearance; the choice depends on your preference for traditional mechanics versus modern convenience.
Yes. We manufacture bespoke heritage timber doors to complement our window range, including traditional front doors, stable doors, and French doors. All can be specified with the same Heritage or Traditional mouldings, ironmongery, and finishes as your windows, ensuring a cohesive appearance across your period property whilst delivering modern benefits in security and thermal performance.
Traditional timber windows are generally only authentic choice for period homes. Aluminium windows and modern uPVC cannot replicate the profiles, joinery details, or aesthetic value of original designs, and local authorities rarely grant planning permission for these materials in conservation areas. Beyond historical authenticity, timber is a natural insulator with superior performance compared to aluminium, and unlike uPVC, timber is made from natural materials that can be repaired and maintained indefinitely, ensuring your windows truly stand the test of time.
