Contemporary Timber Windows in this quintessentially english luxury new home

When thinking of a developer of high-end luxury new homes, our thoughts immediately turn to Hawksmoor Homes. Positioned in the South of England, in the beautiful affluent town of Guildford, Hawksmoor pride themselves on building elegant homes where a passion for fine craftsmanship and attention to detail is distinctly evident throughout the entire finished home.

Avilla, a extensively large family home, is positioned in the lovely East Horsley; a popular village which lies between Cobham and Guildford, which was labelled recently as the ‘most exclusive village in Britain’. Known for its quintessential village charm, this sought after rural retreat is a fitting location for such a prestigious, yet characterful family home.

Creating homes that clients can be proud of involves a careful process of both design perfection and, perhaps more importantly, selecting the best skills and materials. The design brief for this particular house was to create a design that fitted seamlessly with the traditional Surrey Vernacular houses in the road, and the result is exactly this and much, much more.

Bereco worked with Haksmoor to help realise the design requirement of creating a period look but with modern levels of efficiency. Bereco have worked with Hawksmoor for the past five years and very much enjoy working alongside them to create character homes that are designed with great sensitivity, and built to extremely high standards. Their homes are beautifully light and airy and have a great sense of wellbeing.

Our Contemporary Lipped Casements sit beautifully within this home. With a strong emphasis on colour the house is designed with a dual colour finish making the most of a Farrow & Ball colour matching service. The external colour of ‘Light Blue’ contrasts perfectly against the red brickwork and the internal finish of ‘Strong White’ allows for a wonderfully warm finish creating light, airy and relaxing spaces, without being too stark and modern.

A key feature is the beautifully elegant entrance door which is cleverly finished in three alternate finishes. With three panel effect, the leaf is finished in a Farrow & Ball colour match Black-Blue with the frame finish in dual colour to cleverly match the window finish. This clever use of colour really makes all the difference.

When asked about the reason they looked to Bereco for this particular project Geoff of Hawksmoor Homes says:

“Having worked with Bereco for some years, we had no doubt that they would be able to help us design windows and doors which are not only in keeping with the period look of the building but that exceed current building regulations, particularly energy efficiency. The design team worked closely with us to design a complex splay bay window which is one of the key features of the home. The reliability and service we receive is also one of the reasons we are a returning customer.

When selecting premium suppliers it is important to consider the environmental aspects of the materials. We are very conscious of this and keen to use natural, renewable materials. We engaged with Bereco’s World Land Trust donation scheme and as part of the purchasing we joined with them to match their donation. This really gives us assurance that we are working with a conscious company who, not only ensures that materials are sustainably sourced but also go the extra mile by considering the bigger picture and putting back by being part of a scheme which conserves rainforest and wildlife.”

Hawksmoor Homes work with some of the Building & Design Industry’s premier suppliers and due to this our homes come with a 10 year Warranty as well as a 24 month after sales service from our in-house team. Is it any wonder that this beautiful house was sold only 4 weeks after completion?
