In south central England lies the Cotswolds an area characterised by its natural stone-built villages; large estates, rural landscapes and for being the home of world renown Cotswold stone. An area of outstanding natural beauty the Cotswolds are now a highly sought-after place to live in a beautifully rural setting just a short commute to major towns and cities.

This demand for homes in the area saw local developer Abbeymill Homes given the opportunity to build 5 new luxury homes in the village of Shipton-Under-Wychwood in Chipping Norton the highest point in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds.

The homes had to be historically correct; surrounding sympathetic and as an added challenge Abbeymill would have to undertake the refurbishment of an existing house already on the site.

Maintaining a traditional façade and ensuring they blended into the surrounding area was priority number one for Abbeymill when it came to this development. Natural stone and traditional timber windows and doors were never in question.

Abbeymill pride themselves on building their homes to the highest of specifications and without compromise and wanted timber windows and doors that would blend into the scenery; be historically accurate, offer the highest security, and last many lifetimes as the current homes in the village already have.

With Bereco timber windows and doors Abbeymill found just that. With a lifespan in excess of 60 years; Bereco timber windows and doors come complete with high security multipoint espagnolette locking and Part Q Building regulation compliance. Bereco also offer one of the widest choices of window styles available today all of which come factory finished in a range of colours including our exclusive Heritage colour range.

“The completed project is a fine example of contemporary traditional living we couldn’t be more pleased”
Declan McBrearty

Bereco Sliding Sash windows, Flush Casement windows, French Doors and Classic Entrance Doors were selected to feature in this stunning development and were finished in the soft pastel colours of Gardenia and French Green from Bereco’s exclusive Heritage colour range to complement the colouring of the natural stone that features so prominently in each unique yet complementary home on the development.
